The James Brand
Just take my wallet.
The James Brand has made some industry shifting knives but they’re not really a knife company - TJB is an everyday carry (EDC) design brand focused on the beautifully functional objects people can use and carry daily. We didn’t see introducing the Lowe wallet as an expansion but a core offering, since it’s one of the most universal and frequently used EDC items. Designing The Lowe with The James Brand was about creating a product that feels effortless every time you reach for it. Rather than piling on features, we focused on streamlining the everyday interaction—how it feels in your hand, how easily cards slide in and out, and how the wallet behaves both in and out of your pocket. Every decision was aimed at reducing friction and making the experience intuitive. From the way cards fan up with a simple push of your thumb to how the exterior band gently holds cash or the card you use most, each detail came from closely observing how people interact with their everyday carry. We studied habits, tested different approaches, and refined the design until the complexity disappeared. The result is a wallet that feels simple because the hard work happened up front. There are no buttons to press, no adjustments to make, and no mechanisms to think about—just a refined form that gets out of your way while keeping your essentials secure and accessible. That thoughtful layering of design intent and real-world testing makes using it feel almost instinctive: pull it from your pocket, find your card, and move on with your day. Smooth, uncomplicated, and refreshingly analog.
