The James Brand

Maximum utility, minimal fuss.

The James Brand reimagines the basics to create must-have tools for the pocket so we’re always ready when the moment calls. Even with dozens of pocket knives already in their quiver, they were still craving something more essential to have on hand for life’s everyday tasks. Enter The Palmer. Our take on a classic utility knife. An approachable, do-anything, go-everywhere, simply bomb-proof and beautiful object that bridges the gap between traditional everyday carry and a lifestyle accessory. We worked closely with James Brand to design this rugged little workhorse with a buttery smooth mechanism that enables quick, tool-free blade swapping. The aluminum body comes in 8 vibrant colors and is designed to be a super versatile platform for new materials and treatments. From breaking down boxes to roaming construction sites, The Palmer is ready to do it all.

Blade changes couldn’t be easier. We designed a slider mechanism with three positions. First position fully retracts the blade and locks it in place. Center position releases the blade for a quick, tool-free swap. Forward position is locked open and ready to cut.
