The engineers at Smith spend as much time in the lab as they do on the road, always seeking the edge that delivers more speed. Their mission: to develop a race-ready helmet that combined the aerodynamics of top-performance time trial helmets with a lightweight, vented silhouette that riders would enjoy using every day. Knowing our passion for digging deep and exploring every angle, they brought in Cinco to partner on the design through every stage of the process. We spent months together—in the lab and with top riders—exploring form, materials, and construction through dozens of iterations to find the optimal balance of slipstream advantage, low-drag ventilation, and luxurious comfort. In the end, all that scrutiny led to a solution that didn’t just meet time-trial specs—it surpassed the wind tunnel performance of even the best trial helmets on the market. The result: the Smith Ignite. Built for racing performance, yet versatile enough for the endless training miles top riders rely on. Designed to cut through the air like a wing while delivering unmatched ventilation and superior comfort. Unique front intakes and internal channeling, combined with breathable Koroyd impact protection, allow cooling air to move throughout the interior—without slowing down the rider. The Ignite has quickly become a new icon on the competition circuit and a go-to for any rider obsessed with speed.
