A master class in Fun-ctionalism.

Native was born as a study in simplicity. They got their start by lifting the all-EVA shoe craze to a much more stylish level just when everyone thought a Croc was as far as it would go. Transforming iconic shoe silhouettes in durable, waterproof materials and playful, bright colors, they brought a new attitude and a little street cred to slip-on weekend wear. We love their lighthearted brand approach and were excited when they asked us to help them to dream up their “runner” concept. To get there we combined the profile of a classic trainer with a little streetwear DNA to hit an all new staple. From there, we went on to design a range of sandals that blend the best of boat, beach, and poolside chill and spritzed them in a palette fit for the season. Native initially approached us because of our expertise in molded EVA, TPU, and Silicone and, more importantly, how we’ve done it with so much style across wearables and lifestyle tech. We’re fluent in bringing complex forms to life through sophisticated injection-molded processes at a variety of scales, and we put that to work with this program. That experience not only led to some fresh new styes, but also helped Native level up their quality and technical development skills to keep pushing the boundaries of ultra-simple footwear. Our native pairing of technical skill and footwear know-how made us a natural in helping them expand into new categories.
